Job Title: Security Engineer II
Location: Boston – local only
Duration: Open-ended - 3- 6 months with thepotential to extend
Interview Process: Phone screen to Skype interview
Visa: GC,USC and GC-EAD’s
Start Date: ASAP
Preferred tools:
- Databasemonitoring and security (Guardium, DBProtect or equivalent technology)
- VulnerabilityManagement (Tenable or equivalent technology)
Nice to have tools:
- Cloud(AWS and Microsoft or equivalent technology)
- Scriptinglanguage (Python or Powershell)
BASIC PURPOSE:
The Security Engineer II is a senior level technicalresource in Information Security and is responsible for the implementation andeffective and efficient maintenance of related technologies. In addition, thisindividual has practical knowledge of Information Technology at large, with anunderstanding of related disciplines and how they interoperate. The SecurityEngineer II is an active participant and contributor in implementation andtroubleshooting efforts and aids in design efforts.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serves as a subject matter resource in the field of Information Security, maintaining a strong understanding of the field and its related technologies.
Provides technical support to ensure the ongoing efficient and reliable operations of related information systems.
Proactively develops and maintains knowledge of the client’s information systems and their related components, and makes recommendations to improve the reliability, scalability, performance, or security of these systems as appropriate.
Leverages technology to automate manual tasks and seeks to improve efficiency wherever practicable and appropriate. Makes recommendations for process improvements.
Aids in the development of, and enforces and maintains the client’s Information Security controls, procedures, and standards.
Works and manages projects of moderate to advanced complexity under minimal supervision. Allocates resources and budgets to meet project needs.
Collaborates with other IT and business groups, and readily shares information to resolve problems.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related technical field.
Five or more years of Information Security-specific experience.
Proficient with SQL, Oracle, and Sybase databases querying & Database Access monitoring activities/transaction analysis.
Demonstrated proficiency in and knowledge of implementation and post-production support for at least one Information Security related technology.
