We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Camera and Computer Vision Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the precision and accuracy of our camera systems, which are integral to our large-scale, real-time video processing and computer vision projects. You will play a key part in enabling robust 3D reconstruction, object tracking, and other advanced computer vision applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Camera Calibration:
    • Develop, implement, and optimize algorithms and methodologies for accurate intrinsic and extrinsic camera parameter calibration, including lens distortion correction.
    • Perform rigorous camera Field of View (FOV) checks and adjustments to meet project specifications.
    • Design and execute calibration procedures for various camera types, including but not limited to RGB, RGB-D, stereo, and potentially LiDAR sensors.
  • Camera Health Monitoring:
    • Implement and maintain systems for real-time monitoring of camera health, performance, and stability.
    • Proactively identify and troubleshoot calibration drifts or anomalies, ensuring consistent data quality.
  • 3D Reconstruction Support:
    • Apply a strong understanding of 3D reconstruction principles and techniques to ensure calibrated camera data effectively supports accurate 3D model generation and scene understanding.
    • Collaborate with 3D reconstruction specialists to optimize camera setups for optimal reconstruction results.
  • Large-Scale Real-time Video Processing/Computer Vision Project Support:
    • Integrate calibrated camera systems into large-scale, real-time video processing pipelines.
    • Provide expert support and guidance on camera-related issues for computer vision algorithms and applications.
    • Work closely with software engineers and researchers to ensure seamless data flow and optimal performance.
  • Documentation and Standardization:
    • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all calibration procedures, methodologies, and camera specifications.
    • Contribute to the establishment of best practices and standardization for camera calibration across projects.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Optics, or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience in camera calibration, including a deep understanding of intrinsic and extrinsic parameters, lens distortion models, and various calibration techniques (e.g., checkerboard, circular grid).
  • Atleast 5+ yr core expertise is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with common camera models (e.g., pinhole, fisheye, omnidirectional).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and/or C++.
  • Hands-on experience with computer vision libraries like OpenCV.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in 3D reconstruction techniques (e.g., Structure from Motion (SfM), Multi-View Stereo (MVS)).
  • Experience with various camera types used in computer vision projects (e.g., industrial cameras, consumer-grade cameras, specialized depth cameras).
  • Familiarity with real-time video processing frameworks and optimization techniques.
  • Experience with large-scale data processing and distributed systems.
  • Knowledge of deep learning concepts and applications in computer vision (e.g., for camera pose estimation or calibration refinement) is a plus, though not mandatory.
  • Experience in a production environment with rigorous quality control processes.
