Job Title: Business Analyst\Policy Business Analyst Location: Denver, CO Duration: 4+ Months Job Description: Full-time professional Information Technology Project Development experience and/or Function/Business Process Analysis with at least one (1) year of experience in an Administrative; Managerial; or Supervisory capacity. May require a degree and at least 6 years of experience in the field. Substitutions: Accredited college training may substitute for the required work experience, except for the supervisory experience, with a maximum substitution of four (4) years. (Fifteen (15) semester hours in Information Technology or a related area is required Accredited graduate training in the above area may substitute for the required work experience, except for the supervisory experience, with a maximum substitution of two (2) years. Successfully completion of an Information Technology Certification program, may substitute for the required work experience with a maximum substitution of two (2) years. (Proof of certification must accompany application Two (2) years of work experience as a Project Manager-Senior; Quality Assurance Manager; Project Manager- Intermediate may substitute for all of the required experience. Job Summary: Minimum Qualifications: 2.1.1 Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in information technology, business management, business administration, public health administration or degree related to work assignment. Two years of professional experience in a related field or a master's degree or doctorate. 2.2 Substitutions: 2.2.1 A combination of work experience in information technology/systems or health care, which provided the same kind, amount, and level of knowledge that would have been acquired in the required education, may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the bachelor's degree. 2.2.2 A master's or doctorate degree from and accredited college or university in a field of study related to the work assignments may be substituted for the bachelor's degree and one year of professional experience. 2.3 Required Competencies: 2.3.1 Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to exercise a high degree of interpersonal skills and professionalism. 2.3.2 Ability to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work. 2.3.3 Demonstrated knowledge of Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) or a health insurance/medical claims payment system. 2.3.4 Demonstrated knowledge and experience with health systems and health policy. 2.3.5 The ability to make recommendations based on research and analysis. 2.4 Preferred Qualifications: 2.4.1 Knowledge of how to gather and document business requirements, use cases and develop test cases; 2.4.2 Experience with program development involving complex problem resolution; 2.4.3 Ability to set and prioritize workload, develop a work plan with tasks, time frames, milestones, resources, and dependencies; 2.4.4 Strong verbal and written communication skills; 2.4.5 Ability to be self-motivated and self-directed, while possessing the ability to work in a team environment. 2.4.6 Professional experience documenting business or functional requirements, large scale medical claims processing, and/or Health IT, or related systems.
