Description
On our Client’s Data Insights & Analytics team in Corporate Services, you will be responsible for the execution of our Client’s Business Intelligence strategy. This position directly manages Developers and Analysts resources (permanent and contract) responsible for the delivery of data solutions including data warehouses, reports, dashboards, and projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide oversight and direction to team members on day-to-day operational tasks.
Plan and allocate resources to effectively staff and deliver value-based data solutions in alignment to business needs and departmental goals.
Coach, mentor and develop team members.
Foster a culture of teamwork and unity among team members that allows different point of views, understanding and appreciation of diversity, and working effectively together to enable individual and department success.
Lead complex BI projects from inception to delivery. Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, monitor deliverables, and provide status updates.
Lead Demand Management meetings with business partners and stakeholders to determine priority and set user expectations.
Plan, evaluate and improve departmental processes and procedures to enhance speed, quality, and efficiency.
Collaborate with various teams across IT for alignment on processes, strategies, architectural designs, roadmaps, priorities, and resources.
Provide support of existing applications and services provided by the Data Insights & Analytics team.
Build and maintain relationships with key business partners and Business Relationship Managers.
Additional responsibilities as identified.
Qualifications/Requirements:
A Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics or a related field is required; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education.
A minimum of 7 years’ experience in an IT leadership role with at least 5 years in Business Intelligence and Analytics. Experience in an established consulting firm is a plus.
Experience with Power BI (or similar tools), Azure, Data Lake, Data Warehouse, and relational databases is a must.
Self-starter, experienced working in a dynamic environment with proven delivery success.
Demonstrated experience managing complex BI projects such as the implementation of data warehouses, data marts, reporting and visualization solutions.
Clear communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to build and maintain relationships across all levels
Strong prioritization, planning, analytical, requirement gathering and presentation skills.
Good facility with general MS Office and Project Management tools is desired.
Experience with Finance terms and ideas is a definite asset.
Must be familiar with and promote and abide by all Firm values as defined.
Ability to work full time primarily in our Southfield office and in a remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday.
Demonstrated proficiency with enterprise business intelligence products. Power BI reporting experience is a definite asset.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and meet delivery commitments with accuracy.
Exceptional customer service skills, including the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of customers.
Working knowledge of Information Technology concepts and principles, theories and functions of computer systems, and principles and techniques of IT documentation.
Solid understanding and proven experience in requirements definition and management techniques including business process, use case, workflow, and data modelling.
Proven analytical abilities and able to understand system architecture and the integration of system components.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
