Job Description:
BI Developers work with various organizations and departments to support strategic decisions through optimized reporting and data visualization.
The developer will be expected to translate business needs into analytics/reporting requirements, generate the desired visualizations and provide them to the organization.
The BI Developer will be a clear-thinking, problem solver who demonstrates an ability to transform data into practical insights and can communicate those insights with confidence.
This role will work with key stakeholders to gather and analyze business performance requirements as well as to develop monitors for key performance indicators.
Additionally, the developer will participate in a team environment to support the design, development, and delivery of reporting solutions and provide training to others on how to interpret and use data for business analysis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide the business customers with visualizations of data to enable business value and drive self serve functionality
Generate and publish reports for general use using approved BI Visualization Tools
Develop and maintain Cognos, Power BI or Tableau reports
Generate ad hoc analysis and reports
Work with the Data teams to set up appropriate data structures/content for use in developing BI Reports
Create and maintain User Guide/Training Manuals
Maintain queries and reports after deployment
Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
Top Skills:
3-5+ years'' experience with Power BI, Tableau, and Cognos (client currently uses all three BI tools, Power BI is most important to the manager)
3-5+ years'' experience with SQL
Experience puling from different data sources
Call center or after-sales experience
Required Skills:
Advanced communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with charts, graphs, text, and oral presentations
Strong analytical skills with ability to provide internal and/or external data analysis, consultation, and decision support
Ability to recognize and solve data problems and inconsistencies
Ability to prepare, analyze, and select methods of presenting various data
Technically savvy; experience with SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Cognos and/or other reporting/analytics software is required
Ability to report metrics on a detail or summary level and manipulate data into meaningful performance measurements
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially advanced Microsoft Excel
Experience in metrics analysis and process improvement
