Job Description:
· Solutions architecture design for AWS platform services & monitoring framework using architectural design principles based on customer requirements
· Reviewing implementation of platform services to ensure alignment against design AWS well architected framework
· Leading the development of AWS architecture patterns, blueprints and standards
· Working closely with deployment, security and compliance teams in the development of patterns and solutions
· Leading the architecture governance approvals for new AWS services
· Maintain a view of the AWS roadmap in monitoring framework and review changes made by Amazon to understand the impact to the current AWS service patterns
· Research and development of new cloud services to improve performance, security and efficiency of AWS hosted services
· Maintaining a Global AWS Service Catalogue which shows the approval status of AWS services
· Providing architectural approval for new projects onboarding to AWS
· Providing ad-hoc consultancy where required to projects using AWS infrastructure
Requirement:
· Experience of working as a Lead of AWS Solutions Architect
· Demonstrable experience working with AWS in an architecture capacity
· Demonstrable experience of designing AWS solutions using a combination of cloud native, 3rd party and on-premise technologies
· Demonstrable experience of infrastructure build and configurations of a variety of AWS services including EC2, Lambda, S3, databases (e.g. RDS, DynamoDB) and VPC configurations
· Demonstrable experience of facilitating solution design workshops
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to discuss technical detail with business stakeholders
· Deep understanding of AWS well architected framework all 6 pillars
· Deep understanding of AWS well architected framework – Operational Pillars especially in Monitoring framework
· Deep understanding of logging & monitoring tools and their use cases – ElasticSearch, Dynatrace, CloudWatch,
· Deep understanding of infrastructure as code using AWS Cloud Formation, CFN Stack Sets, CDK
Essential Skills:
· Min 4 years demonstrable experience working with AWS in an architecture capacity
· Min 2 years experience working as a Lead DevOps engineer or an AWS Solutions Architect
· Experience of developing Solutions architecture designs in tools such as MS Visio, Draw.io etc.
· Experience of working in an Agile and DevOps environment
· Experience of building and implementing enterprise-wide architecture principles, framework, standards, blueprints and patterns
Desirable Skill:
· Must have - AWS Certifications – Solutions Architecture (Associated Exam)
· Nice to have - AWS Certifications – Solutions Architecture (Professional Exam)
· Nice to have - Enterprise architecture qualifications (e.g. TOGAF, ZachMann)
