AWS Dev Ops Engineer w/ Lead and Architecture
6-12 month contract that most likely will extend/contract to hire

MUST BE US CITIZEN- for this project there is specific security clearance/background check which requires US CITIZENSHIP

Location : Can work in Dallas or Chicago office (Remote until COVID policies are in place)


Looking for a strong AWS Dev Ops Engineer with Lead and Architecture experience for urgent project.



YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with DevOps Leadership in analyzing, executing and streamlining DevOps practices
Develop strong relationships with our Development teams to evaluate projects feasibility, effort and technologies required.
Lead your team by example and passion, introducing new tech stacks for experimentation while maintaining a controlled delivery process.
Interact with our client’s technology stakeholders to understand their internal dependencies and push the best solution for their digital eco-system.
Research and investigate technology solutions that could help to resolve operational or business challenges and demonstrate their efficiency by putting together proofs of concept and sharing these with the team.
Thoroughly research and troubleshoot technical issues. Derive pragmatic, effective solutions, resolve issues and document the resolutions.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
6+ years of experience hands-on development and DevOps deployment experience (of which at least 2 years as a lead)
Strong experiences with architecting DevOps solutions for a complex cloud native environment
Hands on implementation of CI/CD using tools such as Jenkins, Spinnaker or equivalent tools
Hands on implementation of Cloud Native environment and systems set up for:
o Container (Docker) based micro service development environments on Kubernetes, on AWS
o Istio and integrations with Istio for tracing, log aggregation (ELK etc), security, traffic management, canary and blue green deployments
o Services such as AWS databases, caching (AWS), messaging (Kafka), identity and security management, Configuration and Secret Management (Consul/K8 ConfigMaps)
o Scheduling and batching using cloud native AWS compatible tools
o Immutable architecture components and manage artifacts using tools such as Artifactory
o Health management and monitoring using different tools
o Automated environment, systems set up of the above
o Experience with declarative configuration management tool(s) like Chef, Salt, Puppet or Terraform
Experience w/ SCRUM/Agile methodology.
Ability to work collaborate with developers, project managers, QA team to enable them in the development process
Able to thrive independently given direction and objectives. Strong requirements gathering skills.
Creative problem solving.
Personal drive to meet deadlines and deliverables is a must.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Effective at a whiteboard.
Effectively lead the team and inspire them to achieve goals through innovation, quality and excellence
