Title: Solution Architect
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Duration: 12+ month

Job Description:

The Architect develops and maintains the high-level design plan for the overall applications, data, and infrastructure architectures.
Provides technical leadership across the organization, from top-line decision making down to the project planning level.
Gains commitment for high-level infrastructure plans, initiates, and participates in projects to evaluate technologies and methods of implementation. The scope for Architect (Core) is systems based on core technologies, while the scope for Architect (COTS) pertains to custom off the shelf systems. Architect (Niche) refers to niche technologies such as ecommerce systems and Specialty Development in Delta terminology refers to Mobility and TPF.
Assesses business requirements and technology alternatives.
Builds multi-platform technology consensus across business units. -Implements new technologies in small and medium scale environments.
Designs application''s technical infrastructure, such as specific databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing approaches. -Uses tools and methodologies to create representations for functions and user interface of desired product.
Oversees progress of development team to ensure consistency with initial design. -Provides technical guidance and coaching to developers and engineers. ''-Evaluates and/or pilots new technologies.
Contributes to the development of business cases. -Constructs program flow charts to describe the processing of data and development of precise steps and processing logic across all platforms.
Determines functional and non-functional requirements for new software or applications.
Ensures software meets all requirements of quality, security, modifiability, extensibility, etc.
Approves final product before launch.
Takes responsibility for the functional design and architecture of application systems across all technologies and platforms.
Develops high-level product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility.
Defines all aspects of development from appropriate technology and workflow to coding standards.


Qualifications:
The Solutions Architect must have experience on multiple hardware and software environments and be comfortable with complex heterogeneous systems. The candidate needs experience in creating and leading the architecture of multiple projects through the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and has usually performed in a variety of different roles in that life cycle.
The individual will also need to be an expert in and have hands-on experience in multiple industries as a seasoned architecture practitioner. The architect should also have experience in designing and implementing software solutions using several architecture design patterns and have strong experience in OOAD and modern web design. The person should possess an ability to share and communicate ideas both verbally and in writing to people at various levels within the organization in a clear and concise manner that is relevant to each of the groups. Seeking candidates with experience in implementing, designing modern web-based solutions with experience in API design, Micro-service design, enterprise application integration with both SOA and event/message type architectures. Note: Seeking candidate with strong business process modeling experience and expertise. Looking for candidates with experience with Rational Software Architect (RSA) and/or IBM Process Modeler. Must have expertise in the "how" and not just targeting the "what".


Responsibilities:

The role will require the individual to be responsible for the overall solution vision for the assigned projects. The architect will identify and translate system requirements into a prescribed architecture blueprinting process and build/maintain the necessary artifacts.
The individual will collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Technical Directors, Project Managers, and Project Team members to validate the proposed architecture solution in order to enable the team to provision estimates, develop construction plans and prepare implementation approaches.
The person will need to work with various internal and external technical resources in order to drive consensus on an architecture design.
The architect will provide leadership to the development team to insure the realization of that solution.
