Required Skills and Experience:
Graduate of a software or engineering related program with knowledge of software lifecycle
Understanding of programming basics and languages
Understanding of Web technologies (CSS, HTML, JSON, REST, XML, XPath)
Intermediate Programming Skills (Java, JavaScript)
Ability to take guidance and also to research a technical topic and take ownership of it
Ability to translate a technical description into a message that can be easily understood by a wide range of audiences and experience levels
Ability to think and communicate beyond what is prescribed
Willingness and aptitude for learning new and supporting technologies
Strong English communication skills (both verbal and written) and professional manner
Self-motivated and willingness and aptitude for learning new and supporting technologies
Ability to work alone and within a remote team
Strong research capabilities with tenacity to troubleshoot, research, and diagnose a problem and find a resolution or workaround for an issue
Desired Skills
Understanding of web servers and application servers (i.e. Apache, IBM HTTP Server, IBM WebSphere)
Understanding of IBM WebSphere Portal
Understanding of J2EE web applications
Understanding of LDAP
Basic relational database skills (DB2 or Oracle)
