Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
Provides expertise and ownership for IaC efforts, building on Site Reliability Engineering.
Engineering and Automation to return value to the company through fast and consistent delivery, engineering self-service offerings, and automating problem recovery actions.
Creates and improves automation tools and procedures for level 2 teams.
Creates and maintains end-to-end automation for provisioning ephemeral systems to support Agile application development of custom built Business Applications.
Grows and maintains Infrastructure as Code (IaC) automation, using git based source control.
Assists with project work supporting corporate IT initiatives leveraging technologies such as on-premises server and storage hardware, Cloud IaaS, Cloud PaaS, virtualization, and containers.
Ongoing engineering and support of Disaster Recovery plan.
Leverages and builds skills in Python, Perl, SQL, and Powershell for scripting with Ansible for provisioning and configuration management.
Provides deliverables in a timely and efficient manner.
Serves as an escalation resource that provides 24/7 on-call level 3 support.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Excellent coding skills in at least one high level structured programming language, such as Java, Python, Perl, C#/.Net, or C/C++.
Strong scripting skills in a system automation language such as Perl, Python, or Powershell.
Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to use a variety of open source technologies and cloud services
Flexible with a strong sense of urgency.
Ability to effectively communicate technical issues, both verbally and in writing.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Education and Experience Required
Bachelor''s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience and/or education.
10 years of experience in related job role. 7+ years of combined Linux and Unix administration or engineering.
2+ years of experience designing and writing automation using infrastructure tools (such as Python, Perl, or Powershell, Ansible and Jenkins
2+ years of experience deploying and maintaining automation that uses open-source software in an enterprise environment (such as Kafka, AWX, Ceph
Demonstrated leadership in architecting and engineering solutions for system automation and user self-service offerings.
Successful completion of an analytical aptitude exam. Education and Experience Preferred
2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Experience with the Hadoop ecosystem, Kafka, and Zookeeper.
Prior experience utilizing CI/CD Pipelines, including automated build hooks.
Experience supporting Kubernetes and Containers, VMWare, and KVM.
Experience using AI/ML frameworks.
