Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer
Rosemont IL
6 months Contract

Summary of Position
The BI Engineer works with data collection, data warehousing, and data reporting efforts. She or he focuses on the design and implementation of a data warehouse to store all of Client’s relevant operational data, gathering data into the warehouse, analysis of the data and providing internal customers access to the data appropriately (either by reports or web services The BI Engineer is an interdisciplinary individual who works closely with many stakeholders to ensure that the data most important to analyzing and improving the client’s operations is accessible and well-understood.

Overview of Duties and Responsibilities
Work in a cross functional capacity with product teams to understand their requirements and deliver Business Intelligence solutions for their data and reporting needs
Find creative and innovative approaches to complex problems
Lead and participate in design and architecture decisions
Work and learn in a cross-functional agile team
Be passionate and continue to advance your craft
Impact and make a difference in the field of medical informatics
Working in Client’s Software Engineering
Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes
Must have:
Experience with one or more databases, such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or Redshift
Expert level knowledge of SQL
Experience processing raw data using ETL tools and custom scripts
Experience using Python
An enjoyment of technical challenges and eagerness to explore
A willingness to ask for help and ability to communicate what you need to do your best work
The ability to follow good development practices like source control, continuous integration and continuous delivery
Nice to have:
Experience designing or maintaining a data warehouse or data marts
Experience with fact and dimension tables
Experience with C#
A solid understanding of software construction and principles
An academic degree in Computer Science or comparable discipline
