Detailed Job Description:

The Department of Children and Families has identified a need for a Project Manager to support programs funded through the Preschool Development Grant (PDG). This project manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating the development, management, and implementation of high-profile projects such as Community Innovation Grants and Workforce Grants. These programs support the overarching vision that all children have access to high-quality early care and education.

This position requires an individual with excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as, have an ability to work with minimal direction and oversight. Individuals in this role must have a strong background in project management, including experience in running business area projects. The ability to think critically and problem solve are essential.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Project management functions across all PDG projects, including oversight of workplans, timelines, and evaluation efforts.
  • External & internal stakeholder engagement communicate project status to Department Management Teams, workgroups, providers, and Early Childhood Education advocacy organizations.
  • Develop automated tools to streamline internal processes and make project development and execution efforts more efficient.

  2. Selected candidate will not be assigned specific work space, however, may be required to report in person as needed with minimal notice.
  3. An in-person interview may be required before a final hire is made. The hiring manager has discretion to allow phone or Skype interviews at any point during the process.

  7. This position is budgeted for 1960 hours annually. Hours will be prorated the first year based on start date.
