Title: Windows Systems Administrator

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES:
Performs advanced (senior-level) systems analysis and administration work supporting agency applications and associated programs within IT. Work involves coordinating the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of systems. Installs and upgrades computer components and system software. Maintains a reliable, predictable work schedule. Will be called upon to work outside of normal business hours to sustain operations or complete urgent assignments. May serve as backup to other systems analyst/administrators. Performs other duties as assigned to maintain IT operations. Works under minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

-Ensures systems are healthy, performant, have growth capacity, are secured using appropriate requirements, standards, policies, and laws.
-Installs, upgrades, patches systems, remediates vulnerabilities of system components, applications and their dependencies and maintains their lifecycles.
-Develops or assists with the development and implementation of strategies for vulnerability and lifecycle management.
-Develops or assists development of standard operating procedures.
-Ensures systems are properly made ready for release prior to release into production status using ATO (Authorization to Operate) methods.
-Oversees AD & Windows Server system resource management, service account management, DNS services and records management, group policy management.
-Performs system analysis of business requirements and makes recommendations for solutions that align with identity, high availability, business continuity, and disaster recovery strategies.
-Maintains ticket queue in accordance with defined processes. Sets appropriate priorities to project tasks and tickets. Uses ITIL and similar frameworks to perform best practices.
-Performs advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
-Reviews security requirements and available security controls within a given system or platform.
-Participates in systems/security audits.
-Develops or assists with development of team learning strategies.
-Maintains and defines disaster recovery procedures and participates in disaster recovery tests and actual recoveries as needed.
-Works on multiple concurrent projects/tasks and meets deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

WORKER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum (Required):
Years Skills/Experience
5 Experience maintaining and supporting Windows Server 2019, 2016, or 2012.
5 Experience with Microsoft Patching and Vulnerability Remediation.
5 Scripting experience with PowerShell for Active Directory, Azure AD, and Azure.
5 Expertise in Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS administration and structure.
IRS Pub 1075 experience, especially in FedRAMP environment.
Advanced troubleshooting abilities, requirements gathering, critical thinking, procedure writing, and technical documentation writing.
Ability to work independently while understanding the need for communicating and coordinating work efforts with others.
Strong communication, and organization skills with attention to detail.
Ability to handle multiple priorities while meeting strict deadlines and make critical decisions.
Ability to analyze complex information and develop plans to address identified issues.
Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams; establish and maintain cooperative and constructive work relationships.
