Title : User Experience Designer Location : San Jose, CA (Now Remote after covid oniste) Senior User Experience Designer Description Overall responsibility for understanding a customer's brief and converting that into appealing, highly usable interfaces using User Centric Design techniques. Very good design & interaction Hands on knowledge with capability of getting into depth of the task for execution. Experience 5 8 years Educational Qualification BA/BS or MA/MS in behavioral science or closely related discipline. Qualifying fields include but are not limited to: Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Psychology (Cognitive or Experimental), Interface Design, or Computer Science. Domain Knowledge Digital Marketing, e-commerce, Mobility solutions, Application design, SEO, Analytics, Performance, Social Media, Advertising, E-Learning Responsibilities Engages with the business development team and/or customer early on to seek a deeper appreciation of the customers' business problem/goals. Develops understanding of the end users of the website/application through secondary and primary research (user interviews, traffic data) Generating user personas and user scenarios. Prepares low fidelity prototypes of sites/features (ranging from paper-and-pencil concepts to wireframes or interactive prototypes) for internal review and brain storming. Capable of gauging technical feasibility of the prototype. Presents high fidelity designs/mock-ups to the customer for review/iteration/approval. Work on doing heuristic reviews & present formal review report with suggestions for improving usability. Capable of working directly with customers in an iterative/agile manner to dramatically improve the prototypes in a short time Able to explain his/her design philosophy verbally and in writing Conduct competitive usability evaluation Lead medium ethnographic research projects employing observational techniques to better understand customer motivations, behaviors and needs Maintain in-depth knowledge and understanding of different research methodologies and data analysis techniques. Skills & selection Criteria (Must Have) Design Tools: Mastery of Photoshop, Illustrator and Fireworks & InDesign. Front end Technologies: Some knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3, and at least some Javascript framework to know the possibilities. Expert about User Centric Analysis & Usability testing tools & techniques. Excellent time-management, multi-tasking, and communication skills. Capable of juggling multiple projects and related complexities at the same time. Good eye for aesthetics: layout, grid systems, color theory and typography. Strong understanding of mobile platforms, particularly iOS, Android and Windows Phone. Understanding of the limitations of web and mobile, with approaches/ideas to flex those boundaries.
