Palo Alto/SME Engineer
Location : Houston , TX -- Hybrid onsite 2 days/week ( NON LOCALS ARE OK NEED TO BE ONSITE FROM START NO REMOTE )
Duration : 6 months contract to Hire
Consultants should be able to give detailed technical answers to the manager about these subjects during their interview.
We looking for some one strong on Palo alto who has Architecture experience and very strong on palo alto , Need to have experience in Design new Palo alto firewall and train junior team members and present to the CEO level -- This role is very complex role
Job Notes
- The consultant must be Palo Alto focused & an SME on architectures.
- The consultant must be an SME on internet Agile architectures & designs with Palo Alto.
- The consultant must have operation level knowledge of a Palo Alto firewall components.
- The consultant must have Palo Alto experience in large enterprises.
- The consultant must have 30+ firewalls in Panorama and familiar with other Palo Alto tools such as Prisma Cloud and Prisma Access.
- Should be able to explain to the manager, "What are you doing to maintain a ruleset in a large organization?”
- Should be able to explain to the manager, "How do you project a webserver from the internet?”
- The manager is not looking for a short-term contractor. Candidates need to have been with a company for a long time to have the type of experience that the manager is seeking for this role.
Needs
- Need strong Firewall and Security. Need someone who can do more than firewall.
- The candidate should be a Palo Alto SME and a Network security SME.
- The candidate should be able to easily explain what an internet architecture looks like when you put a firewall in, and explain the different types of architectures to which you can add firewalls.
- This person needs to be able to representative the Networking Team and understand the architecture.
- This person is not receiving tickets in a que. Instead they are working on a future state operation.
- Will be running projects, deployment, and design representations.
- AWS is what the candidate will use.
- Heavily involved with third generation design using AWS.
- Need infrastructure code experience.
- There will be 95% new build work and 5% escalation work.
- Finance background is helpful but not required. Must have enterprise understanding (lots of firewall experience) instead of coming from a small environment
Required Skills:
7-10 years' experience managing various network architectures
5+ years' experience on Palo Alto firewalls and securing Internet facing applications
3+ years of experience in Public Cloud technologies including AWS and Microsoft Azure specifically in networking and security solutions and implementation.
5+ years of technical experience with network security technologies (ex. Firewalls, proxy and network segmentation)
Experience in DevOps scripting and automation using tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, and/or Terraform
Understanding of Openshift, Docker and Kubernetes container environment
Experience with DLP, WAF, DDOS, IPS/IDS
Experience with Palo Cloud, SOAR, Twistlock, Redlock and Prisma Access
Experience with various endpoint security solutions
Information Technology/Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Information Technology/Cisco Certified Network Professional Security (CCNP)
Information Technology/Linux+ Certification - Computing Technology Industry Association (Comp TIA)
