As a member of CTI Asset Management Technology, the Full Stack Engineer will play an integral role in re-engineering and consolidating CTI Research capabilities to common cloud patterns and architecture. Also supporting and advancing data and compute infrastructure, environments and core APIs that quantitative investment models, research, decision systems, and analytics are built on. A successful candidate is a motivated self-starter with an aptitude for learning new skills and environments quickly while multi-tasking on more than one high-priority deliverable. The role will have to do daily/overnight support of critical processes as required.

What Your Day to Day will look like:

  • Understand the platforms, data, applications and workflow to ensure that the investment process is best empowered through the lens of highly reliable and performant systems
  • Contribute to project-based work while managing the on-demand workload of pro-active support.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and the front office teams to integrate data quality and monitoring controls into designs and architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Migrate financial applications (Quant) from traditional hosted to cloud based environments (AWS). Re-factor, re-engineer, develop as necessary to aid in the execution of migrations with development, engineering and DevOps teams.
  • 70% hands-on coding, scripting and other technical tasks. 30% strategy, design, analysis etc. (individual contributor)
  • Ensure compliance with architectural principals and standards for various systems and components.
  • Participate in detailed analysis to align requirements and equipment configurations with defined system specifications. Translate customer requirements to process and data requirements.
  • Keep abreast of Technology advances and issues across all enterprise domains. Research, test and recommend tools and practices for potential implementation. Provide technical assistance to engineers.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field
  • 5+ years of closely related experience with one or more of the following: React, JavaScript, MQ, Docker, PostgreSQL, Redis, Apache
  • Scripting or software development experience (PowerShell, Python, C#, etc.)
  • 3+ years' experience with AWS services Cloud Formation Templates (CFT), Terraform, Lambda, S3, Glue, Cognito (good knowledge around authentication and authorization framework), SNS, DynamoDB, EKS.
  • Ability to spot problematic areas, analyze solutions and propose, direct and execute their resolution.
  • A solution and output-oriented mindset with a 'roll-up your sleeves' attitude
  • World-class problem-solving skills and ability to articulate findings and solutions in verbal and written form.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Architect, developer or other specialized certifications for Amazon AWS.
  • Practical job experience refactoring or re-engineering applications to take advantage of cloud native capabilities including PaaS, DaaS, elasticity, availability zones/HA, Lambda/Functions or other serverless constructs, and/or re-architecting traditional batch-type process to cloud paradigm.
  • Financial Services industry specific knowledge (financial asset management and investments) that includes a working knowledge of industry standards.
