Position: Technical Writer Location: San Jose CA contract: 6 months Interview process: Phone Interview Job Mission We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer for an onsite fulltime position. Ideal candidates will have both a technical background that enables them to interact with engineers and developers in the semiconductor industry, and experience in creating and delivering high-quality technical publications. You will be part of a global team, responsible for publishing content according to advanced content strategies, for Nova's advanced Technical Knowledge Center. Responsibilities include Plan, develop, organize, write and edit documentation for hardware and software products including: User Manuals, Installation Guides, Preventive Maintenance Manuals, Quick Reference Guides, Release Notes, Field Change Orders, Technical Notes, and online help for Nova's product lines Ability to interview Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and users at various levels within the company, including product specialists, program managers, programmers, and engineers to gather information for documentation development Produce online documentation in addition to pdf manuals Manage updates and revision to technical documentation Job Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Technical Writing, English, or Technological or Sciences field Proven experience in Technical Writing Excellent English (mother-tongue level) Experience using Simplified English to document complex concepts for (ESL)English Second Language audiences Excellent outlining, writing, and editing skills, and research, interviewing and communication skills Ability to quickly learn and understand new products/features and advanced technologies Ability to author/edit/format professional documents while adhering to a predefined style guide Ability to fit into a collaborative and dynamic team environment Ability to work independently as the primary writer on projects Excellent multi-tasking skills Good organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and commitment to quality Two or more years' experience with MadCap Flare, Author-It, or XML authoring tool Experience with the following tools are an advantage: FrameMaker, Word, Adobe Acrobat, RoboHelp (or equivalent), PowerPoint, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator Familiarity with HTML, XML, Excel, Visio is an advantage Referral Program: Ask our recruiting team about how you can be a part of our referral program.
