Position: Taxonomist Consultant
Location: NY, NJ
Job Description:
We are seeking a Taxonomist for a Large Content Migration project.
Responsibilities include:
· Researching and scoping metadata requirements in accordance with stakeholder needs to support search and navigation within the content management system
· Analyze current free-form and end-user-generated metadata for patterns and transform into structured metadata
· Work with and verify metadata with stakeholders and subject matter experts
· Build and execute metadata within the taxonomy management tool following the taxonomy release schedule
· Test and execute BAU taxonomy change requests and align with target state taxonomy
· Work with stakeholders to research and execute intake requests to align with target state taxonomy
Desired skills:
· Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, lookups, concatenation, match functions)
· Experience tracking/capturing personal and platform metrics and reporting via PowerPoint where necessary
· Experience utilizing Alteryx or similar data cleansing and analysis application
· Familiarity with Splunk
· Familiarity with XML and JSON
· Experience working cross-functionally with diverse teams in a global environment
· Experience troubleshooting production and release issues
· Experience thinking critically and working independently to solve business issues and improve processes
