Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our team in Milwaukee, WI, and take a lead role in Unified Communications with a strong networking and telecommunications background. This role will focus on the configuration, integration, and development of various telephony solutions, including VOIP, Clients, SIP, and similar technologies. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for the analysis, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of infrastructure, software, and telephony solutions, ensuring they meet both functional and non-functional requirements. Zoom and Zoom phone technical experience is required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:

·         Participate in the design, implementation, and long-term management of telephony-related products and services.

·         Collaborate with cross-functional teams to scope and launch new products, services, and features.

·         Troubleshoot and debug VOIP integration and feature development issues.

·         Optimize system performance and quality.

·         Work with third-party vendors to deliver and integrate solutions for our customer base.

·         Qualify and evaluate third-party telephony products and solutions.

·         Develop, maintain, and execute disaster recovery and redundancy strategies.

·         Proactively stay updated on emerging platforms and related technology.

·         Solve complex technical issues and enable/teach peers to be self-sufficient.

·         Establish and maintain best practices related to compliance, security, privacy, and legal requirements.

·         Stay informed about industry trends relevant to telephony and telephony products and apply them for the benefit of the organization.

·         Break down complex problems into smaller, more manageable tasks and help others do the same.

·         Understand and leverage tools relevant to your domain and apply them in various situations and problem-solving.


Qualifications:

·         Bachelor's degree in Telecom, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

·         Minimum of 4 years of relevant VOIP/Telecom & Zoom experience required, including software development, integration, and deployment of complete solutions.

·         Experience with real-time communication, including voice, telephony (Clients), SIP (Session Initiation Protocol), QoS, DHCP, and DNS.

·         Familiarity with multiple delivery methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall.

·         Hands-on knowledge of Java/Python/Go concurrency, multithreading, and asynchronous programming is a plus.

·         Experience with CICD concepts, tools, branching strategies, and leveraging knowledge to deliver infrastructure as a product is a plus.

·         Solid understanding of traditional and cloud computing technologies, including Networking, Compute, Storage, Development, Data, Operations, and Security.
