Requirement’s/Skills
Strong Linux systems engineering background with CentOS/RHEL 7 (preferred) or Ubuntu 18.04+
Experience with securing/hardening applications and operating systems; should be able to talk about topics ranging from fundamental UNIX permissions to iptables and MAC (Mandatory Access Control) systems like SELinux or AppArmor
Proven track record of implementing tools similar to what we use (e.g. Docker, Apache Kafka, Elastic stack, InfluxData TICK stack, Hashicorp Consul/Nomad/Vault or equivalents)
Solid understanding of microservices and the platforms that run them
Experience with configuration management software e.g. Ansible (preferred), SaltStack, Chef, Puppet, etc
Understanding of essentials of networking and network security
Preferred:
Knowledge of overlay networks and how to use them for network segmentation
Experience with security/compliance regimes such as FedRAMP
