Job Title: Supply Chain Strategist
Summary:
The Supply Chain Strategist uses analytical and quantitative methods to understand, predict, and enhance supply chain processes both at the supplier and within internal systems. Responsible for assembling data, analyzing supplier performance, identifying problems, and developing recommendations which support SCM planning and operations. Responsible for the development of supply chain metrics and supplier evaluation tools, e.g., On Time Delivery (OTD), Rate Readiness Assessment, and Supplier Quality Rating, maintenance of agreements, and assists in developing supplier contract and agreement clauses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Gathers and interprets relevant data relating to costs, productivity, demand patterns, and rate readiness requirements in terms of supplier capacity, capability, and growth.
  • Drives the collection of supplier data such as OTD and Quality to create supplier scorecards.
  • Develops periodic supplier performance reports and distributes them to stakeholders.
  • Guides key supplier criteria development, supplier selection process, and maintains key supplier list.
  • Measures supplier performance and defines corrective actions and recovery plans.
  • Ensures contract and agreement issuance and maintains the repository database.
  • Maintains an ongoing relationship with suppliers to monitor and improve supplier performance.
  • Provides analytical support for projects, new business opportunities, and proposals.
  • Prepares and conducts presentations to communicate findings, make recommendations, and facilitate change in terms of continuous improvement of supplier performance.
  • Significant interface with the Procurement function requiring continuous cooperation, organization, and coordination of work between the two departments.
  • Responsible for preparing and monitoring supplier capacity
  • Occasional travel.
  • Maintains Supplier Contact E-mail and is responsible for notifying suppliers for Supply Chain related communication
  • Supports to solve supplier related issue internally
  • Focal to ensure collecting data and to present to auditors
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Education and/or Experience:
Position requires completion of a Bachelor's degree in a non-technical field for job proficiency and 5 years related experience or equivalent or 3 years in Jamco

  • Experience in the aerospace industry in roles such as Supply Management, Logistics, Purchasing, Inventory Management, or Material and Production Planning.
  • Solid knowledge of Supply Chain planning, time phased ordering, and manufacturing flow.
  • High proficiency in MS Office Suite with advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Skilled using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics, and Epicor.
  • Solid knowledge of AS9100, AS9120, AS9102 (FAI)

Other Qualifications and Characteristics:
Strong quantitative and analytical skills; familiar with production planning concepts, e.g., Lean Manufacturing and Materials Requirement Planning. Knowledgeable in product delivery methods, e.g., Kanban, JIT, Dock-to-Stock, Sampling techniques, and VMI. Must have a broad range of computer skills using databases, spreadsheets, statistical applications, and various software packages. Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and suppliers. Offer a high degree of project management skills, and be comfortable working with individuals at all levels with the organization.

Language Skill:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and customer contractual requirements.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively in front of both internal and external organizations.
