GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
The Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for assisting with the strategic development and operational execution of the Supply Chain organization. This includes developing department goals, objectives, and processes/procedures, as well as ensuring suppliers deliver high-quality products and services on time and at the contracted cost. Key areas of responsibility include purchasing, material planning, inventory control, supplier management (performance measurement, timely delivery), and subcontract management.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Works in conjunction with operations and program managers.
- All raw material & hardware is ordered & received at Technical Directions Inc. in time to support customer delivery.
- Write purchase orders for raw material, hardware & subcontracting/ secondary services using the Technical Directions Inc approved suppliers list and standard work requirements.
- Follow up on all placed purchase orders to assure on time delivery and alerts the program manager/ supply-chain manager of any schedule delays that may impact customer deliveries (primary contact).
- Inventory Responsibility
- Verify movement of all incoming purchased & customer supplied material into their proper location (detail crib and related areas)
- Maintain accurate inventory records for all purchased & customer supplied details
- Supply the operations manager with a monthly list of inventory quantities located in the detail crib and related areas
- Supply Chain Responsibility
- Work with engineering, quality, & operations to develop suppliers.
- Create and send request for quotes "RFQ" to suppliers and follow-up for responses.
- Report Responsibility
- Track On-time delivery from all sub tiers and providing a monthly report.
- In conjunction with quality providing vendor quality ratings & provide a monthly report to management.
- In conjunction with quality, provide Technical Directions Inc quality ratings & provide a monthly report to management.
- Material Responsibility
- Document and create debits for all sub tiers and the returning of defective material for rework or evaluation to all sub tiers. (program manager to cost debits)
- Work with the configuration management team to remove obsolete inventory or upgrade inventory as needed.
- Special Responsibility
- Perform expediting for product both internal & external as directed
- Update data in customer portals/web sites as required.
- Perform other assignments and special projects as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Preferred:
- BS/BA in a Technical or Business field.
- Or 5+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or supplier management, preferably in DoD with complex product development, manufacturing, and logistics.
- Experience and or trained in Supply Chain Management, contract law, FAR/DFAR, and Cost accounting systems, "CAS".
- Knowledge in PDM and MRP systems.
- Experience implementing long-term agreements and sub-contract agreements.
- Knowledge of government regulations impacting the strategic and tactical operations of the purchasing/supplier management organization.
