Job Title : Vital Records System Support Specialist

Location:Jackson, MS, Onsite

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused professional to support the implementation and maintenance of a new Vital Records Database Management System. This role involves providing technical support, training, and guidance to both internal staff and external partners such as hospitals, funeral homes, coroners’ offices, hospices, and nursing homes.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Gain a thorough understanding of the newly implemented Vital Records Database Management System.

  • Respond to incoming phone calls, emails, and online inquiries from users requesting support or guidance on the system.

  • Deliver ongoing training and user support to external stakeholders, including healthcare facilities and funeral services.

  • Provide technical assistance to internal Vital Records staff, with a focus on system functionality, data modernization initiatives, and interoperability projects.

  • Assist in developing and maintaining enhanced business processes and facilitating secure data transfers to state and federal agencies.

 

Required Skills and Experience

Candidates must meet all the following requirements to be considered:

  • Demonstrated ability to support and train users in the use of data management systems.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

  • Capacity to contribute to data modernization and system interoperability goals.

 

Preferred Qualifications

These qualifications are not mandatory but are highly desirable:

  • Experience working with government entities on data or IT-related projects.

  • Prior exposure to or experience working with Vital Records.

  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and methodologies.

  • Experience using Crystal Reports and SQL for data analysis or reporting.

  • Understanding of FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) standards.

  • Background in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
