Position Overview

The client is seeking an experienced Vice President of Marketing to provide interim leadership coverage during a maternity leave. This individual will oversee strategic marketing initiatives, innovation launches, and go-to-market execution for Schwarzkopf Professional US. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in the beauty, professional haircare, or premium consumer products sector, and be comfortable operating in a global, matrixed environment.

This role requires physical presence in Culver City, CA on a hybrid schedule.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 10+ years of senior-level marketing leadership within beauty, specialty retail, or prestige consumer brands

  • Proven track record driving innovation, product launches, and omni-channel go-to-market strategies in the U.S.

  • Extensive experience with retail expansion, including partnerships with Sephora, Ulta, Amazon, and professional salon channels

  • Strong financial management skills with experience overseeing multi-million-dollar marketing budgets

  • Demonstrated success working in global/regional matrixed organizations

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to assume leadership quickly and maintain continuity with minimal onboarding time

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Provide interim executive marketing leadership to ensure continuity, alignment, and delivery against business objectives.

  • Partner with regional and global teams to define U.S. market strategy and innovation roadmap.

Innovation & Product Launch Management

  • Drive planning, activation, and execution of new product launches across professional and specialty retail channels.

  • Collaborate with R&D and global brand partners to tailor innovation for the U.S. consumer and professional market.

Go-to-Market Execution

  • Convert innovation pipeline and product strategy into actionable launch calendars, toolkits, sales enablement, and in-store execution.

  • Lead channel-specific positioning and activation strategies to maximize reach and performance.

Portfolio & Channel Expansion

  • Expand existing product lines into new retail and professional channels, ensuring relevant messaging and customer engagement.

Budget Ownership & ROI Measurement

  • Manage marketing budget planning, allocation, and spend phasing.

  • Track marketing effectiveness, spend optimization, and return on investment.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Sales, Education, Events, and Digital teams to ensure cohesive and high-impact execution.

  • Provide leadership, prioritization, and direction to enable focus on high-value initiatives.
