Position Overview
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and experienced Software Quality Assurance Analyst to join our dynamic team. As a contractor, you will be responsible for the complete QA lifecycle across various IT/IS and business application initiatives, ensuring both manual and limited automation testing activities are conducted with precision. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a deep understanding of QA methodologies, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Analysis & Test Design: Analyze and interpret business and functional requirements, ensuring comprehensive test coverage with traceability in ALM Quality Center.
Manual Test Execution: Design, execute, and maintain detailed manual test scripts for functional, integration, and regression testing, validating both technical functionality and business processes.
Test Automation: Develop and execute automated tests, where applicable, using tools such as UFT, LoadRunner, or other frameworks, to enhance test efficiency and repeatability.
API Validation: Design and execute test cases for API verification, including request/response accuracy, data integrity, and error conditions, to ensure system interoperability and business requirements are met.
Data Validation & Reporting: Validate data outputs (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) using SQL/PLSQL, ensuring accurate reporting and data integrity from source systems.
Defect Management: Log, track, and retest defects in ALM QC, collaborating with developers and business SMEs to analyze impacts, verify resolutions, and maintain transparency.
UAT Support: Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by coordinating and executing test scenarios with business stakeholders, tracking results, and ensuring alignment with real-world processes.
Continuous Improvement: Participate in peer reviews, provide feedback, and suggest process improvements to enhance QA procedures and outcomes.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other QA team members and cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals and ensure high-quality deliverables.
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in QA: Expertise in test planning, design, execution, and defect management.
Strong proficiency with ALM Quality Center: Experience in requirements management, test design, defect lifecycle management, and reporting.
SQL/PLSQL expertise: Skilled in writing and executing queries for test data setup, data validation, and backend verification.
Solid understanding of SDLC and QA methodologies: Experience with various software development life cycle methodologies and defect lifecycle management aligned with industry standards (IEEE, ISO).
Experience testing across multiple platforms: Familiarity with web applications, APIs, and Windows-based systems.
Excellent communication & documentation skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to document test cases, results, and defects clearly and accurately.
Preferred Qualifications
Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with utility industry systems, such as Customer Information Systems (CIS), billing, meter data management, and field service operations.
Test Automation Tools: Experience with tools like LoadRunner, UFT, or similar for script creation, execution, and analysis.
BI/Analytics Tools: Experience validating reports using Tableau or Power BI.
Certifications: ISTQB, CSTE, or equivalent QA credentials are a plus.
Performance Expectations
Test Coverage & Traceability: Maintain comprehensive requirements-to-test traceability within ALM Quality Center.
Documentation Excellence: Deliver high-quality test documentation, ensuring accuracy and consistency in test results and defect tracking.
Defect Management: Ensure accurate and timely reporting, retesting, and closure of defects.
Process Adherence: Follow internal QA standards, templates, and documentation practices to ensure compliance with organizational policies.
Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the enhancement of QA processes and knowledge sharing within the team.
Additional Information
Work Environment: Hybrid arrangement with at least three days per week on-site in Philadelphia, PA.
