Job Title : Business Process Modeler

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Process Modeler to collaborate with functional leads and subject matter experts (SMEs) to document and optimize future-state business processes for the Project. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in business process modeling, process optimization, and documentation, using industry-standard tools and notations such as BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation).
This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong communication and analytical skills who can work collaboratively across various teams to ensure business processes align with project objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading workshops, analyzing workflows, and delivering comprehensive documentation, with the ultimate goal of driving process improvements and ensuring successful project implementation.
Key Responsibilities

Process Documentation:
Collaborate with MDCPS functional leads and SMEs to understand and document future-state business processes, utilizing BPMN and other industry-standard notations.
Develop and maintain Methods and Procedures Documentation to provide clear, step-by-step instructions for specific tasks within business processes.

Process Optimization:
Analyze and identify opportunities for workflow improvements and process optimization. Recommend strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across the business processes.

Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with MDCPS and vendor project teams (Development, OCM, Testing, Training, etc.) to ensure business process documentation is aligned with overall project goals, timelines, and objectives.

Expertise in Process Mapping:
Provide subject matter expertise in process mapping, modeling techniques, and best practices. Ensure the knowledge and documentation are transitioned effectively to MDCPS at project completion.

Workshops & Interviews:
Facilitate workshops and conduct interviews with stakeholders to address any gaps in the future-state business process and/or Methods & Procedures documentation.

Support Process Implementation:
Assist in the implementation of process improvements by providing guidance and detailed documentation to relevant stakeholders.

Manage Project Deliverables:
Track and manage project “open items” related to Business Process and Methods & Procedures, ensuring that action items are completed and documented in the appropriate process flows and procedure records.

Interim Process Design & Maintenance:
Manage temporary alterations to standard business processes, ensuring effective handling of anticipated system downtime or production defects.
Required Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field.

Experience:
Proven experience as a Business Process Modeler or in a similar role, with a strong background in business process documentation and modeling.

Technical Proficiency:
Proficiency with business process modeling tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, or dedicated BPM tools.

BPMN Expertise:
In-depth understanding of Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) and other business process modeling notations.

Analytical Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze workflows and recommend improvements.

Collaboration & Communication:
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Process Improvement Knowledge:
Familiarity with process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, CMMI, or similar frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are desirable but not required:

Domain Experience:
Experience in state government, particularly within the Department of Human Services (DHS) or Child Welfare domains.

Process Improvement Certifications:
Certification in Six Sigma, Lean, or other process improvement methodologies.

Child Welfare Experience:
Previous experience working on child welfare projects is a plus.
