Position: Storage consultant Bill Rate: $60/hr Location: Waukegan, IL Duration: 6 Months Note: Onsite role Prefer Locals Min 9 Years IT exp SAN Technologies - IBM SVC, V7000, EMC PMAX/VMAX, Cisco Switches Remotely troubleshoot and manage Storage technologies. Strong troubleshooting skills in Storage Technologies Expertise on SAN connectivity FC, FCOE, iSCSCI, NPIV Expertise on Storage Switches Brocade, CISCO Experience of leading initiatives/projects/ Improvement plans NAS Technologies -EMC Isilon, VNX Remotely troubleshoot and manage Storage (NAS) technologies. Strong troubleshooting skills in NAS Technologies Expertise on NAS connectivity iSCSCI, FCoE Expertise on Storage Switches Experience of leading Initiatives/projects Key Roles & Responsibilities: Performs necessary storage infrastructure maintenance and necessary data migration, as required. Responsible for performance analysis, proactive troubleshooting and capacity planning for the storage environment. Responsible for Performing Day to Day operations like Allocations, Reclamations, setup replications, LUN expansion, migrations, switch errors troubleshooting/maintenance. Track SLAs, KPIs, Review Changes and attend CAB meetings & Create RCA's and attend customer calls to discuss the RCA's Work closely with onsite lead and DM to ensure that the deliverables are completed on time and to the satisfaction of the customer Attend Incident and Problem Management Calls & Lead and Engage during Sev-1 / Sev-2 Calls Provide technical and process training for the new joiners Lead and Participate in Handover calls including the updates for the activities performed during the day. Co-ordinate with EMC Vendor for change activities including upgrades, installs, decomm's and part replacements. Creating SOP's for Day to Day Activities. Handling DR and migration related activities. Participate in a 24x7 on-call duty rotation. Provisions solutions based on standardized procedures as outlined by Best practice documentation. Ensure documentation of entire environment is current. Review entire environment and execute initiatives to reduce failures, defects and improving overall performance. Communicate with peers and managers regarding storage Administration issues. Use scripting languages to automate tasks and gather data. Manage Storage Inventory. Proficiency in hardware, software and/or operating systems environments. Knowledgeable on Highly virtualized VMware environments. Core Competencies, Knowledge & Experience: Experienced in maintaining large scale Enterprise Data Center environment. In-depth understanding of current technologies Experience of working within a Service environment and technical teams of IT experts Experience of working on ITIL ticketing systems (Service Now), understand ITIL framework Experience in representation in Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings Experience of being able to highlight issues and solutions Strong verbal/written communication skills 10+ years of relevant experience Ability to work in a highly dynamic and complex environment Exposure to disaster and recovery practices. Ability to interact with customers so as to ensure that the service is flexible, efficient and responsive. To work through issues analytically to a successful conclusion Demonstrable results in a business customer facing role, with a track record of delivering services to defined service levels.
