Years experience:
An effective Sr. Site Reliability Engineer will be detail oriented, have broad technical understanding within the domain, can work independently, and is a team performer. Success will require collaboration, ingenuity, and passion to deliver results.
As a member of our team, you will play an important role in defining how we do reliability engineering. It will require you to learn, refine, and document systems and processes. Your experience with Service Level Indicators (SLIs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and error budgets will help us develop our practice. You will be data driven in pursuit of reliability. Most importantly, you will proactively build relationships and exceed expectations.
Required background? Skills?:
- 4-6+ years supporting external, customer facing web services for a large site
- 4-6+ years installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows-based systems and services using IIS and MSSQL
- 2-3+ years using Chef to manage servers in Windows environment
- 2-3+ years using Splunk, New Relic, and Pager Duty in large, customer facing environment
- 2-3+ years managing VIPs, pools, and members on F5 Big IP
- Outstanding troubleshooting, attention to detail, written and spoken communication skills.
- Experience defining and using Service Level Indicators (SLIs), and Service Level Objectives (SLOs)
- 1-2+ years using Jenkins for test, build, and /or deployment
- 1-2+ years managing services and infrastructure using Terraform
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with performance tuning and scaling of IIS site using MSSQL database
- Experience automating alert and incident resolution
