JOB DESCRIPTION
The Senior ETL SQL Server Developer / Quality Assurance data tester, under general supervision of the Data Readiness Team manager and adhering to procedures for quality assurance; test and analyze data and software components for consistency related to system conversion and data bridging to ensure usability and applicability to the business need. This role is to create, execute, monitor, and troubleshoot any problems associated with plans and test scripts related to the data migration and data bridging efforts supporting the TRS Modernization program:
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
This is a “hands-on” position with delivery responsibilities.
Code very complex T-SQL queries to facilitate test result verification
Development of high quality database solutions
Develop, implement and optimize stored procedures and functions using T-SQL
Develop package by utilizing SSIS techniques
Develop and validate scripts for data migration
Developing scripts for validating the data migration transformation logic
Experience in developing SSIS packages
Coordinate and perform in-depth tests for enhanced and new systems.
Participate in planning and prioritization sessions as required.
Maintain responsibility in the assigned modules for assuring that all products and associated documentation are defect free and compliant with technical specifications.
Perform tracking and reporting of test results; Defect tracking and reporting for the modules assigned.
Perform other duties that are assigned from time to time.
Provide periodic status reports as requested
Requirements:
Experienced in working with QA tasks under various development methodologies including Waterfall and Agile.
Experience with Microsoft Windows platforms; Solid experience in working with Microsoft SQL Server databases, SSIS, SSMS and Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS)
Solid experience with scripting languages like SQL scripting
Knowledge of relational database design, programming and information retrieval techniques; Solid experience in writing complex SQL queries, insert/update statements
Through understanding of test automation and experience in both manual and automated test efforts.
Broad-based knowledge of computer hardware, software, platforms, networks and operating systems
Ability to collate and analyze defects, present the results using charts for root cause analysis and provide feedback to compare against defined parameters;
Maintain tracking status of open action and corrective items, receiving and reviewing
responses and feedback, and monitor the established timeframes for action items;
Qualifications:
10 Years of experience as SQL*Server ETL Developer preferred;
5 Years of experience as QA analyst and/or Senior tester role preferred;
Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project;
Strong proficiency in data collection, analysis and presentation;
Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate to all levels of the company;
Experience with large scale data conversion projects preferred.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in the field of Computer Science or Information Systems or a related field.
