Role: Sr. Solaris Administrator
Remote/ Work from home
Duration: 3+ months
Start Date: Immediately
We are seeking a strong Sr. Solaris Administrator to provide advanced engineering support to assist the customer in providing automated operating system builds and patching in their Solaris 11 environment. The ideal
candidate will have extensive knowledge of provisioning and patching Solaris 11 zones within a large customer environment.
Responsibilities:
* Perform Solaris 11 builds and patching
* Develop an automated Zone provisioning system that can be used for server build processes
* Develop automate Storage provisioning SAN
* Design and develop automated IP and AD workflow
* Design and develop automated Storage workflow (Array and SAN)
* Develop automation solutions for Solaris 11 builds and patching using automated tools
* Maintain systems security posture, complete STIG checklists, remediate IAVAs and CVEs
* Implement SCAP reporting and remediation procedures in the customers environment
Qualifications
* Bachelor of Science (BS) can be substituted with an additional 4 years of related experience
* 10 years IT experience with strong understanding of UNIX, Linux, Solaris administration, networking
* Minimum 5 years of experience with Unix/Linux systems security including proficiency with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs),Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs), Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) and vulnerability mitigation
* Detailed knowledge and experience with Solaris 11 administration, to include shell scripting and networking concepts (VLANs, routing, firewalls,subnetting)
* Experience with server virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware,Solaris zones, Solaris Logical Domains)
* Experience with automation tools such as Ansible and Puppet
* Experience in scripting languages such as Ruby, Python, Bash, Perl
* Experience with SAN/storage concepts (LUNs, HBAs), logical volume management, NFS
* Good interpersonal, written, oral communication and technical documentation skills
* Detail-oriented and organized with strong quantitative and analytic skills
* Ability to work in team setting, as well as independently
* Self-starter: identify issues and create action plan for resolution
* Demonstrated initiative, flexibility and ability to concurrently manage multiple deadline-driven tasks and projects.
