Sr Scrum Master (managed a ServiceNow project)
Location: Remote
Duration: 6+ month extendable contract (Project is through 2027)
MUST HAVE Experience working with Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) within ServiceNow
• ServiceNow Scrum Master:
• Manages the ServiceNow project and coordinates the team.
• Supports a manager new to project management.
• Ensures the team adapts to evolving requirements and consensus challenges.
Prefers practical, hands-on approach over strict adherence to ceremonial processes
Job Requirements:
• 5+ years of experience as a Sr Scrum Master in a software development environment
• Demonstrable experience working with development teams focused on ServiceNow applications, understanding the unique aspects of the ServiceNow platform (e.g., configurations vs. customizations, update sets, scoped apps, platform upgrades).
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM I), or equivalent agile certification.
• Knowledge of UX/UI principles and limitations as they apply to ServiceNow portals and workspaces
• Familiarity with ITSM, CSM, HRSD, or other common ServiceNow modules is a plus
• Strong understanding of Agile principles, values, and the Scrum framework.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to inspire, motivate, and influence teams without direct authority.
• Experience with agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally, ServiceNow Agile Development 2.0).
• Ability to understand technical concepts and communicate them effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
• Experience with scaled agile frameworks (SAFe, EAP) specifically applied to ServiceNow development.
• ServiceNow certification is a plus but not required(e.g., Certified System Administrator, Certified Application Developer)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Job Summary:
• Facilitate Agile Ceremonies: Expertly facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including Daily Scrums, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives, ensuring they are productive, engaging, and adhere to Scrum principles
• Coach and Mentor: Coach the ServiceNow development team, Product Owner, and stakeholders on Agile principles, Scrum framework, and best practices. Promote self-organization, cross-functionality, and continuous improvement within the team
• Remove Impediments: Proactively identify and remove obstacles and impediments that hinder the team's progress, escalating when necessary and working to resolve issues quickly
• Support Product Owner: Work closely with the Product Owner to ensure the backlog is well-groomed, prioritized, transparent, and ready for development, particularly for ServiceNow-specific requirements.
