Currently we are seeking seeking a Project Manager to work on an Enhanced I/M Emissions program implementation project for our client, a state government agency. To ensure the success of this project, our client wishes to retain a full-time, onsite Project Manager with experience in large government projects with DMV operations, desirably in VEIP/Emissions operations.
The Agency will engage a vendor to provide a turnkey solution and this position will assist the State with managing the project, and completion of state led activities.
The Project Manager will be under the direction of designated client management for the oversight of activities to accomplish the following:
Manage and assist in the design, development and implementation work of the project including planning, scheduling, and budget/deliverable/timeline tracking, as well as definition and execution of state led tasks, and assistance in Contract Management and Administration
Participate in Executive Steering Committee and Workgroup meetings as well as Project Team Briefings
Creating and maintaining the overall project plan and schedule
Assisting State resources in managing and administering required product and services deliverables
Creating and maintaining a project risks and issues log. Working to resolve or escalate risks and issues as necessary to avoid negative project impacts
Providing Project Status Tracking and Reporting including:
Conducting regular project status meetings and publishing meeting minutes
High-level project status reports and updates at least weekly;
Detailed project status reports at least bi-weekly;
Brief the Executive Steering Committee on project progress issues and risks every 2 – 4 weeks
Project expenditure reporting monthly
Staffing reporting monthly
15 years of direct project management of large projects (over $5M) that includes all PMBOK areas
Experience migrating legacy systems
Experience implementing COTS solutions
Public Sector experience, specifically DMV operations
Highly desirable to have VEIP/Emissions/Inspections operation/solution experience
