Overview:

The Department of Transportation (DOT) IT PMO is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead multiple IT initiatives, with a primary focus on the Roadway Lighting Control and Monitoring System Project within the Transportation Portfolio and SAS Initiative. The role requires proven expertise in managing complex, multi-million-dollar projects from concept through implementation and close-out, including vendor management and stakeholder coordination.

Responsibilities:

Manage end-to-end project lifecycle, ensuring successful delivery of all work products.

Develop, execute, and manage integrated project plans, timelines, scope, budgets, risks, and resources.

Coordinate and oversee multiple deliverables, delegating tasks across project teams.

Lead stakeholder communications, negotiations, governance, and reporting.

Manage vendor and contract relationships, ensuring quality and compliance.

Facilitate training and education on project management standards and practices.

Implement both in-house and third-party solutions with extensive change management.

Required Skills & Experience:

7+ years managing large-scale, multi-year IT projects using MS Project / Project Server.

7+ years proven expertise in planning, budgeting, scope management, testing, QA, and resource allocation.

7+ years experience with third-party vendor/product implementations.

6+ years managing in-house and vendor-developed solutions.

6+ years in contract and vendor management.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with all levels of stakeholders.

5+ years in risk management and analytical/conceptual skills.

Preferred:

5+ years government IT project management experience.

PMP certification.
