JOB DESCRIPTION:

DIRECTV manages a diverse portfolio of premium video services across DIRECTV, DIRECTV STREAM, U-verse, & NFL Sunday Ticket including a suite of linear streaming and video on demand apps and websites in addition to creating the best cross-platform entertainment experiences for modern video consumers.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about television, movies, entertainment, and technology. He/She/They will have a deep understanding of the technology that delivers live streaming and video on demand services. He/she/They will manage work through teams which execute against that vision via small, medium, and long-term initiatives.

The candidate will be part of a team who's focus is on the DIRECTV customer with an emphasis on the streaming apps. This team believes in working fast, being accountable, and learning from mistakes.

In this role, you will…

• Inform, develop, and execute on the short and mid-term strategy and architecture to evolve the existing product to bring added value to a large customer base.

• Manage multiple initiatives that evolve the user experience of TV Everywhere streaming applications that support the DIRECTV Video services and measurement of that evolution.

• Work with cross-functional teams to deliver value to our customers and our stakeholders in a predictable and timely manner

• Collaborate with internal and external partners to identify the needs of the business, summarize the intended changes to the products, evangelize the value of that intent and shepherd that intent through development to our customers through innovative implement solutions

• Maintain familiarity with the competitive landscape for consumer facing video trends and competitive products in the industry to ensure client continues to evolve to be the best-in-class video provider

Roles & Responsibilities:  

1) Manages cross-functional teams through functional requirements gathering, implementation and validation through to initial launch or lifecycle of a service.

2) Defines functional requirements for wireless services.

3) Manages product development including product requirements gathering and definition, project planning, project management, budgeting, financial acumen, test design and execution, long term tactical roadmap and release management and planning.

4) Communicates product requirements to various organizations such as IT, Engineering, Supply Chain, Customer Care, Sales.

5) Leads vendor selection process, delivery, quality required.

6) Develops, maintains, and distributes, standard project management deliverables for the successful launch of new data applications and devices, including implementation plan, project schedule, issues & action items log, meeting minutes, risks assessment and contingencies.
