Job Title : Sr. Network Consultant (Nokia Engineer) Location: Allentown, PA Duration: 8 months Contract Job Description: Advance practical knowledge of IP technical solutions - IPV4, IPV6, routing and switching, MPLS, services l2 vpn, l3 vpn , vll epipe, apipe, cpipe, qos, multicast. Extensive experience in IP/MPLS domain. Hands-on in configuring routers/switches with Command Line Interface Nokia (Alcatel-Lucent) 7705 SAR-8, 7705 SAR-18 & 7750 SR-12 Cisco (Cat 9k, Nexus 9K, 7K, 5K, 2K), 3850, 3750, 2921, ASR, ISR, IE Knowledge and experience on Ciena 6500 (DWDM) will be a plus. Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS, OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, VRF, PBR) Perform network maintenance and system upgrades. Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability. Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning. Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues. Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure. Experience with field-based work in POPs, data centers and Central Office environments Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution. Nokia (Alcatel Lucent) NRS2 certification Cisco, Juniper network specialist certification will be a plus Good practical knowledge of 5620 SAM (NE integration, SW upload & upgrade, backups) alarm monitoring and interpretation Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English. Can work independently and also in a team. Can travel for business, even at short notice Can work under pressure of time Desired soft skills: Solid communication skills: able to effectively articulate to an IT and business audience a problem or gap, solution options, and implementation proposal including budget and resourcing Collaborate cross tower within the IT org and support partnerships with LoB's Work with Associate Director, IT Security and Risk Management to define and adapt operational metrics and bridge those metrics to executive level insight Interpret state change requirements to meet business needs and convey risk assessment and management options Can leverage people, process, and technology to evolve a security program Leverage vendor partnerships to assess control effectiveness, improvement opportunities, and evaluate solutions Understands best practice and contributes this knowledge in design and architectural review and service delivery Good balance of ability to "stay the course" but tolerance and flexibility to requirement changes, scope creep, and shifting timelines Ability to act in a consulting capacity to guide operational practices of offshore resources
