Role: Sr. Net DevOps Engineer

Job Summary:
The Sr. Net DevOps Engineer will be part of Network automation team driving automation initiative focused around Networking.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership around automation approach, tools, languages to effectively solve business problem using automation
Effectively understand the business problem or opportunity and have the ability to translate them into technical requirements
Design a solution based on the technical requirements leveraging the tools available in line with the overall automation strategy
Expert level ability to develop, test and release the new solution and ensure the technical and business requirements are being met
Responsible for supporting the users of any infrastructure that is developed
Responsible for architect, design, and Implement technical solutions
Provide guidance to team members
Responsible for project plans, work break down and progress tracking
Responsible for influencing the strategies of peer organizations ensuring that their strategic automation plans are in alignment with the technical direction of Network Operations and/or Strategy and Architecture.
Qualifications:
10+ years in either a large IT shared services organization or telecom service provider environment
5+ years of working in DevOps role supporting infrastructure
Knowledge of one cloud platform (Azure, AWS, GCP)
Strong hands-on knowledge of Configuration Management and Deployment tools such as – Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform etc.
Strong expertise in programming / scripting with Python, shell, Ruby, Perl, etc.
Experience with source control management like Git, SVN, Bitbucket
Strong proficiency with YAML
Hands-on software development and operation of Build, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment
Strong experience with CI/CD tools like Kubernetes, Jenkins, or Docker
Strong proficiency in leveraging Rest API’s to work on custom solutions that require information from multiple sources
Advanced Linux admin experience
Good experience on Networking Technologies like Load Balancer, ACL, Firewall, VIP, DNS
Experience setting up real/virtual build and unit test lab environments (VM, appliance, network)
Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a cross-functional environment, cross-site and cross-time zones
Exceptional communication skills are a must. Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively at a variety of levels and to communicate intricate technical and procedural matters to both technical and non-technical personnel across diverse cultures
Ability to manage time effectively to accommodate work outside of normal business hours
Strong customer, quality and results orientation
Ability to be an effective team member and technical leader
Ability to recognize and embrace change as the external environment and organization evolves
Good understanding of how IT technology supports the Enterprise and the Business Segments
Ability to communicate and multi-task under pressure
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field is required
Preferred:
Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred
Technical DevNet Certifications are preferred
