Sr. Manager Data Collection

 

What You Will Do

  • Lead and develop a team of Engineers, Engineering Technicians and Data Labelers.
  • Lead data collection activities for multiple sites in the US, India and Europe
  • Lead team of data monitoring technicians.  This team operates 24 hours a day supporting multiple sites across the world
  • Lead DevOps activities to ensure data collected is stored appropriately in Cloud (AWS)
  • Execute, supervise, and report data collection activities in accordance with the approved protocols. 
  • Perform QA and provide feedback on data quality to other team members and management 
  • Manage and assign resources to support data collection, data collection monitoring and tech support and data labelling. 
  • Ensure schedules for data collection labs are run at an optimal level and optimize the test subject experience in our labs.
  • Monitor team performance and coach team members to attain high team productivity. 
  • Work with legal and compliance team to ensure all data collection activities are performed per local data privacy laws

 

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • 8+ years in data management or cloud administration
  • 4+ years’ experience managing teams of engineers and technician preferably in the information technology industry. 
  • Experience in organizing work groups, training staffs, and ensuring quality compliance. 
  • Ability to work with incomplete technical information. 
  • Strong organizational and management skills, with an ability to operate in a rapidly changing environment.  
  • Ability to maintain quality, focus and accuracy whilst performing repetitive tasks. 
  • Experience in technical supervisory role, especially in image/video data labelling and processing is highly desirable. 
  • Extended understanding of hardware with respect to data management: I/O throughputs, caching technologies, etc.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to hold effective technical discussions. 
  • Ability to resolve workplace issues effectively. 
  • Commitment to team productivity and work quality.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

 

What is Nice to Have

  • Experience in developing scripts (e.g., in Python) for general data processing. 
  • Experience with large scale data collection
  • Experience with AWS is a big plus.
  • Ability to identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality
  • Experience with CI tools such as Git, Jenkins, Jira
