Job Title: Sr. Database Administrator

Location: Remote or Chantilly, VA

Duration: Long term

Job Duties:

  • Design, architect and develop Java based web applications using Object Oriented Analysis and Design(OOAD) and Software Development Lifecycle(SDLC)
  • Develop business requirements, technical specifications and functional requirements for various applications.
  • Create Project Plans, Risk Mitigation Plans and Test Plans for various projects in the Enterprise as per the project's needs.
  • Development, Implementation and Support of various Documentum and Windchill projects at various phases to support business operations of Operations(COO), Counsel (COUN), CAPD and IBOP offices.
  • Developing and Enhancing GMS, ARMS, Absenteeism, Sleep Apnea, HR Documentum, ERM Search Screens as well as upgrading Documentum and its underlying infrastructure.
  • Development and implementation of scanning and archive tools to support multiple projects to digitize, automate, and reduce the use of paper within different functional areas of Client including: Accounts Payable, Bus Maintenance, Rail Operations, MTPD, Human Resources, Plant Maintenance, and others.
  • Develop HTML and Java based front end client applications with workflow functionality that enable document and policy approval within the various departments of the organization.
  • Extract metadata from unstructured content from external sources and develop/populate custom document types in Documentum.
  • Develop TBOs to customize Documentum document types within Webtop and other Documentum Client components.
  • Integrate various applications in the Enterprise by developing web services using REST/SOAP.
  • Documentum web based Applications Support and Operations & Maintenance work.
  • Install, configure, upgrade and maintain Documentum Content Management system and its Client components on UNIX/Windows based Operating Systems for Enterprise.
  • Develop Unix based scripts for system administration.
  • Monitor all the Documentum related Servers for resource consumption, availability and take preventative steps to avoid an application crash.
  • Customize the Documentum Search Engine, Xplore to search based on the different keywords and special characters as requested.
  • Integrate scanning software's like Captiva and Kofax with Documentum to send the scanned documents to Documentum with custom metadata applied at scanning time.
  • Work with various Business Units within the Enterprise to define retention policies for content in paper based and digital media.
  • Develop and administer proper change management policies procedures during deployment and maintenance of various projects and applications.
  • Manage and deploy web based Documentum applications like Webtop on WebLogic and Tomcat application servers.
  • Work with Quality Assurance Team to ensure all Documentum Applications and Deployment packages are thoroughly tested.
  • Provide helpdesk support for technical issues with various Java and Web based applications.
  • Generate database reports requested by various user departments for custom document types in Documentum.

Degree Requirement: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems, information technology, or a combination of education and experience equating to the U.S. equivalent of a Bachelor's degree in one of the aforementioned subjects.
