We are seeking a Sr. Data Analyst to join our Information Technology team in our Purchase, NY office.


Main areas of responsibility:
Perform Business and Data Analysis for insurance, reinsurance and corporate reporting and data requests using SQL, and/or other reporting/data mining technologies tools
Work with end users to determine data requirements for reporting requests, data mining requests. Assist with testing and implementation from a data lifecycle perspective
Collaborate with Data Architects in formulation of requirements for data
Create source to target mapping documents for new data warehouse requirements and extract requirements
Develop appropriate data requirements documentation in line with SDLC framework including Data Requirements, mapping, and test plans
Support day-to-day production inquiries and questions from other technology groups.
Define data quality plans to address data quality issues; work with business partners to build business understanding of data issues
Establish strong working relationships with team members and across the business and technology teams as appropriate
Coordinate project tasks, estimates and timelines for data analysis within the team
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
8+ years as a Data Analyst working in the insurance and reinsurance industry, with an understanding of underwriting, claims and contract data and business processes is required
5+ years of hands-on SQL experience
3+ years in data warehousing
Strong knowledge of relevant technology toolsets for data analysis and documentation including SQL, data modeling, metadata organization, data cleansing, and reporting tools such as Cognos, Microstrategy or other data reporting/data mining tools.
Experience with data validation tools such as QuerySurge is preferred
Experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter, SAP FS-RI/FS-CD and BW is a plus
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication skills with technical and business teams, both written and verbal. Understands communication channels and escalates appropriately.
Must be a team player who works well with technical and non-technical resources.
Strong initiative; able to self-manage based on given priorities.

Education:
BS in Mathematics, Finance, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics
