Role Overview
The Mainframe Developer is responsible for developing maintaining and supporting enterprise mainframe applications that enable core insurance and financial operations The role requires strong hands on expertise in COBOL JCL DB2 and CICS along with the ability to troubleshoot production issues monitor batch processes and collaborate effectively across diverse delivery teams
 
Key Responsibilities
Design develop and maintain mainframe applications supporting insurance domains such as policy administration billing claims processing customer servicing and financial reporting
Monitor batch processes identify abends perform root cause analysis and coordinate with source teams for quick issue resolution
Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications ensuring alignment with client guidelines and architectural standards
Perform debugging SQL analysis and performance optimization across applications and database layers
Ensure adherence to enterprise security compliance and governance controls required within financial and insurance environments
Participate in Agile ceremonies collaborate with cross functional teams and provide regular status updates
Prepare and maintain technical documentation ensuring knowledge continuity and operational readiness
Support production environments through on call rotation and after hours support when required
 
Required Skills and Experience
Hands on experience in COBOL JCL DB2 and CICS with strong understanding of Z OS environments
Experience in batch monitoring abend analysis job scheduling and production support
Good knowledge of SQL database structures query tuning and data analysis
Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow and understanding of ITIL processes related to incident problem and change management
Strong analytical and debugging skills with the ability to manage critical production issues
Exposure to financial or insurance domain processes is preferred
