Job Description :

Position: Splunk Data Engineer

Location: Richfield, MN

Duration: Full Time

Description:

·         This position is responsible for supporting and administering Enterprise Logging and Observability using Splunk.

·         The primary function is to manage the splunk platform and migrate the application logging from ELK to Splunk.

 

Basic Qualifications:

·         Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

·         At least 2 years’ experience with System administration involving Splunk.

 

Required Qualifications

·         Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience

·         At least two years of experience with Business analysis, Requirements gathering and Project Management involving IT infrastructure

·         Experience with system software and hardware infrastructure concepts.

 

Skills/Experience

Working experience in:

·         Strong experience with Splunk administration

·         Should have experience in building and managing large-scale splunk platform.

·         Experience in building load balancer HEC, Splunk upgradation, architecture planning, replication factor, search factor.

·         Strong experience in planning and deploying universal and heavy forwarders through automated deployment classes.

·         Understanding on ES, DB, Splunk-Connect for Kubernetes and other major splunk apps and add-ons.

·         Experience on kubernetes-monitoring using Splunk Devops automation.

·         Experience with CIM modeling and other ETL processes (retrieving data from sources, transforming the data, storing data)

·         Proficiency in SPL, creating complex dashboards using JS, XML elements.

·         Reproduce issues and if necessary file bug reports, escalate cases to vendor, and provide necessary documentation

·         Experience working in Kubernetes, GCP and/or AWS.

 

Preferred experience in:

·         Experience migrating applications from Elastic to Splunk.

·         Knowledge in managing large-scale splunk in SaaS platform.

·         Knowledge on Splunk phantom and ITSI.

·         Handling PII (Personal identifiable information) and PCI data.

·         Usage of other dashboard tools such as Grafana, ELK.

·         Scripting experience such as Python, Shell, JS.

·         Splunk Enterprise Data Administration Certification.

·         IT standards, procedures, policy, Change control, Agile Delivery and Application testing
