Role                       :               Sr. SharePoint BA/Admin

Location               :               Cambridge, MA

Duration              :               6+ months plus extensions or conversion

Must have great communication skills and be able technically to navigate as an administrator

Why Open: They are currently looking to make enhancements or changes to their document collaboration space.  They are looking to make one of the following changes, they have a meeting coming up on the 19th to hash this out:

Expand SharePoint with a fresh new look and cleanup
Go with Hybrid SharePoint/ approach
Hybrid model with migration from SharePoint to Box – maintaining both SharePoint and Box

Important Skills

Technical –  SharePoint, O365 (if they don’t have online SharePoint on prem versions 2013/2016 are acceptable), SQL Server

Soft – strong communication, self starter, if they had some project management experience that would be beneficial      

Business Analyst, Enterprise Content Management – Contract

They need experience with SharePoint on tech side, work with business to manage content. This person will be responsible for setting up the site, uploading and maintaining content. If they receive content to upload and there is an expiration date- do they have a plan to handle this. They can provide training to the business on how to upload and manage the content.

They don’t currently have a plan to deliver training to the entire organization, it may be more targeted to specific groups but they may want to expand that. So the candidate not only needs tech skills but functional. If they have experience with the creative side, developing sites in SharePoint with different look and feel from standard template that would be beneficial.

Primary Responsibilities

Participate in planning and execution of tasks related to the evaluation of cloud-based document collaboration system initiatives (Upgraded Versions, Third-Party Solutions, Integration with additional Enterprise Systems
Create high availability of the collaboration portals
Develop, configure and maintain document libraries, enterprise lists and site collections.
Perform typical system administrative activities such as site creation, restore and issue resolution.
Create and maintain backup policies
Provide regular user trainings
Enforce strict adherence to Data Governance.
Manage permissions and ensure that the permissions are current
Set up analytics on the portals and track usage.
Create, leverage and manage content types, site columns and templates for re-use in the sites
Setup and manage alerts to monitor activity on business-critical information as required
Compile monthly reports on usage, security and development progress of site collection.
Coordinate with functional departments to standardize and optimize information/report storage and retrieval.
Work with Project Managers and business users to design and develop solutions to address needs and opportunities and propose changes that would make the collaboration environment a more effective solution.
Hold regular meeting with business functions to keep content up to date
Maintain and administer Microsoft SharePoint and
Maintain current industry knowledge of development concepts, best practices and procedures for SharePoint solutions.
Provide hands-on content management for the various business functions.


Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Computer Science) or equivalent work experience
5-7 years as a SharePoint Administrator. Strong knowledge of SQL Server, PowerShell, Office 365. Strong understanding of MS SharePoint Architecture and O365
Experience with highly desired.
Expertise and experience with complex technical activities
Excellent written and oral communication skills
End-user requirement gathering, systems analysis
Basic project management
User training development
Development experience with SharePoint Designer
Working knowledge of web design/graphic design tools
Knowledge of Life Sciences operations
Excellent customer service communications skills
Quality conscious, reliable and know how to follow-up effectively with others.
Ability to manage and keep track of multiple tasks simultaneously.
