Job Title: Software Engineer I

Location: John Deere Run, Cary, North Carolina, USA, 27513   

Period: 15+ Months (Probability to extend)

Hours per Week: 40

Shift: M-F 8-5pm

Specific Position Requirements:

1. MBSD, C in Embedded environment.
2. CAN and CAN tools such as CANalyzer, CANoe etc.
-Work with a dynamic team of multi-disciplined systems engineers, developers, and architects around the world to deliver software features.
-Utilize Scrum-based project management systems.
-Develop and test embedded software applications to help optimize end-user productivity and job performance, provide precision machine control, and enhance user experience.
-Get first-hand experience operating machinery to test your work.Provide technical support to non-software groups including marketing, manufacturing, quality, and supply management organizations.
-Assist with migration from 16 to 32 bit controllers.
-Assist with electrification of an array of commercial, residential, and turf equipment.
Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or similar field.
2. 1-4 years of experience relating to software engineering or control system development
3. Experience with simulation and modeling tools, specifically MATLAB and Simulink.
4. Experience with CAN J1939 communication protocol.
5. Experience with tools, such as oscilloscopes and multi-meters.
Desired Attributes:

-Ability to build business relationships in a team-based culture.
-Any background with farming and/or turf care industries.
-Understanding of Agile methodology and/or experience within an Agile team
-Experience with Rally Agile project management tool.
-Experience with Continuous Integration tools and automated testing
-Understanding of Product Delivery Process
-Practical experience applying closed loop control theory
-Technical experience relating to design/diagnostics of mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems is desired, but not required.
Onsite position from Day 1 in accordance with return to work procedures

Hours typically - M-F 8-5pm
Very occasional driving to Turf Care

MAJOR PURPOSE:

Works on a product team alongside other software engineers and software
analysts to support basic product design by writing and testing code to
deliver simple to complex functionality on a defined portion of the product it
supports. This is an entry level role that is designed to learn, grow in
competence, and develop the most basic capability needed to operate
effectively in this role. Work and decisions are reviewed by supervisors
before implementation; Applies existing applications to routine problems.

* Develops, codes, configures, and tests programs and systems.
* Evaluates and implements enhancement design solutions to improve cost,
quality, and performance of software applications.
* Analyzes assignments and determines software specifications that must be
fulfilled to achieve objectives.
* Executes necessary documentation, as directed, or needed.
* Collaborates with other relevant stakeholders and team members to ensure
that features meet business needs.
* Follows industry-standard agile software design methodology for development
and documentation.

Education:

Formal education or training required to perform the essential
functions of the job. Includes degrees, certifications, licenses and/or

* Degree in an Engineering/Technology discipline or equivalent experience.
