Job Description :
Platform Engg (IBM Blue Mix – not mandatory)



Responsibilities:

· Must have an ability to communicate highly complex technical architectures/solutions to a nontechnical audience as well as communicating business processes and requirements to a technical audience is an absolute must in this position.

· Understand details of Platform as a Service (PaaS) including its strengths and weaknesses

· Understand details of operations of DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Github, Artifactory

· Support a large and diverse PaaS infrastructure (IBM Cloud and Azure) in a 24x7 support model

Diagnosis and remediation of technical problems
Take ownership with minimal guidance and engagement with internal support and engineering teams and third party suppliers as required
· Tracking and management of platform usage and capacity metrics

· Development and documentation of mechanisms for deployment, monitoring and maintenance

· Work with customers on technology solutions and resolve customer issues



Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.

Minimum (3) years in a directly related field
Strong Hands on Linux experience
Strong knowledge of at least one scripting language
Strong understanding of operating systems & networking concepts
Must have a support experience of an enterprise grade production system
Exercised Site Reliability Engineering concepts
Good understanding of storage, load balancers, virtualization, web, database and messaging services with the ability to dive deep into any of these areas when necessary
Experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery using modern DevOps tools and workflows such as git, GitHub, Jira and Jenkins

Other Preferred Qualifications:

· Preferred experience with Platforms as a Service

· Preferred experience with support and operations of the DevOps tools

Experience with deploying container based applications using Docker
· Have working knowledge of one of the monitoring tools such as Nagios, Dynatrace or AppDynamics

Good hands-on experience with web architecture and the appropriate technology stacks such as Apache, Tomcat, Websphere, or JBOSS
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
