Job Title: Senior Virtual Desktop Engineer

Location- 100% Remote

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Virtual Desktop Engineer to design, implement, and support enterprise virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solutions. The role focuses on delivering secure, scalable, and high-performance virtual workspaces, ensuring an optimal end-user experience across the organization.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and manage Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions
  • Administer platforms such as Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, VMware Horizon, or Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
  • Optimize performance, scalability, and availability of virtual desktop environments
  • Manage image creation, patching, and lifecycle (gold images, profiles, application layering)
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to VDI, networking, and storage
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams
  • Implement security best practices including access control, endpoint security, and data protection
  • Support remote workforce enablement and end-user computing strategies
  • Automate routine tasks using scripting (PowerShell, etc.)
  • Maintain documentation, standards, and operational procedures

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong experience with VDI technologies (Citrix, VMware Horizon, Azure Virtual Desktop)
  • Solid understanding of Windows OS (Windows 10/11, Windows Server)
  • Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity management
  • Knowledge of networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, VPN, load balancing)
  • Familiarity with storage solutions and performance tuning
  • Experience with monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies
  • Strong scripting skills (PowerShell preferred)
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure
  • Knowledge of endpoint management tools (Intune, SCCM/MECM)
  • Experience with FSLogix, profile management, and application virtualization
  • Certifications in Citrix, VMware, or Microsoft Azure
  • Exposure to security and compliance frameworks

Experience:

  • 6–10 years of IT experience with at least 3–5 years in VDI / End User Computing
