Are you a database expert who enjoys solving complex challenges in a collaborative, mission-driven environment? This is a chance to work with a public-sector organization focused on delivering essential services to communities. You'll play a key role in modernizing and optimizing the data infrastructure that powers critical applications.
What you will do as a Senior SQL Database Developer:
- Design and develop complex SQL Server databases, stored procedures, views, and triggers.
- Tune and optimize database performance with smart indexing, query optimization, and execution plans.
- Develop and maintain robust ETL pipelines using SSIS or similar tools.
- Support integration with external systems and third-party platforms.
- Partner with DBAs to ensure solid backup, recovery, and security practices.
- Contribute to testing, documentation, and process improvements across the database environment.
- Collaborate with application developers to ensure efficient and scalable database solutions.
What you will bring to the role as a Senior SQL Database Developer:
- 7+ years of hands-on SQL Server development experience (preferably versions 2016 and up).
- Deep expertise in T-SQL, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Strong background in ETL development, particularly using SSIS.
- Solid understanding of relational data modeling and normalization.
- Familiarity with source control tools like Azure DevOps, TFS, or Git.
- Ability to work effectively in Agile or hybrid project environments.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
Nice to have:
- Power BI or SSRS reporting experience.
- Familiarity with data security and compliance in a government or public-sector context.
- Exposure to cloud-based data solutions, especially Azure SQL.
- Some knowledge of .NET/C# to support data-driven applications.
