Job Description :

As a Senior Project Manager within the Infrastructure Platform Services department, you will manage complex technology projects including Voice Services, Voice Modernization, OT Domain Modernization, IAM Modernization, and PCI Remediation at Amtrak. Utilizing best practices, project management methodologies, and tools, you will ensure projects are delivered on budget and schedule, coordinating efforts across multiple departments and external vendors. Your role involves formal project management processes, risk and issue tracking, budget management, and quality assurance.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct technical leads, project team members, and consultants/contractors.
  • Develop and maintain project documents, including Project Charter, Project Management Plan, Requirements, Design, Architecture Input, Test Plans and Results, Implementation Plans, Post-Implementation Reports, Lessons Learned, Project Schedules, Budgets, and Resource Management Plans.
  • Produce weekly program status reports.
  • Conduct project status and other necessary meetings.
  • Manage project schedules using MS Enterprise Project Management (EPM) and MS Project Professional 2010.
  • Report on schedule and budget variances.
  • Create and maintain SharePoint project sites within the EPM system.
  • Ensure quality project schedules, baselines, and estimates, and report variances.
  • Report on risks and provide risk management plans, assessments, and mitigation strategies.
  • Report on ongoing issues and changes using existing processes and templates.
  • Publish weekly status reports detailing activities, accomplishments, issues, and resolutions.
  • Ensure all activities required for operational readiness review are completed on time.
  • Create Statements of Work (SOW) for RFPs and evaluate vendor responses, ensuring all required documents from vendors are produced.
  • Provide SOW for ongoing support services as necessary.
  • Evaluate criteria for product and proposal analysis.
  • Deliver programs and projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Present projects at Quality Checkpoints and Department Level Project Reviews.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience, training, and education.
  • Minimum seven years of hands-on program and project management experience from initiation to implementation using formal methodologies.
  • At least seven years of experience in technology management, analysis, and administration.
  • Ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills and effective communication abilities.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with MS Project Office Professional, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Experience with project management tools such as MS Project Server (EPM) or Primavera.

Preferred:

  • At least four years' experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project Server (EPM).
  • PMP Certification.
