About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our IT infrastructure team The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience managing large-scale Oracle environments, ensuring high availability, security, performance tuning, and disaster recovery for mission-critical databases.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer, monitor, and maintain Oracle databases (12c, 19c, and newer) across development, test, and production environments.Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, migrations, and patch management.Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, and resource management.Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies (RMAN, Data Guard, GoldenGate).Manage user access, roles, and database security policies.Collaborate with application teams to design efficient database schemas and data models.Automate administrative tasks using PL/SQL, Shell scripting, and Python where applicable.Support 24x7 production environments and participate in on-call rotation as needed.Provide mentorship and guidance to junior DBAs and developers.
Required Qualifications:
15+ years of overall IT experience, with 10+ years in Oracle database administration.Strong knowledge of Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and OEM Cloud Control.Expertise in performance tuning, capacity planning, and troubleshooting.Solid understanding of Unix/Linux environments, including scripting.Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or AWS RDS for Oracle preferred.Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and database architecture principles.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or higher certification strongly preferred.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or NoSQL databases a plus.Familiarity with DevOps tools (Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform) for database automation.exposure to data warehousing and ETL processes.Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
