Foxconn Assembly, LLC is seeking a Senior NPI / Process Engineer to join our Engineering team. As the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for PCB manufacturing and electronic assembly processes, you will lead, mentor, and guide engineering teams to enhance process performance, efficiency, and product quality. This role requires a seasoned technical leader with expertise in process engineering, Six Sigma/Lean methodologies, and New Product Introduction (NPI). You will drive continuous improvement, ensure superior quality standards, and collaborate closely with both customer and supplier teams.
?? Key Responsibilities
- Serve as SME for PCB manufacturing and electronic assembly processes across global teams.
- Lead, manage, and mentor engineering teams to drive productivity and process optimization.
- Manage complex projects to improve manufacturing efficiency and quality.
- Apply Six Sigma and Lean principles to reduce costs and enhance production quality.
- Design and execute DOEs to optimize process parameters.
- Oversee facility layout and assembly flow optimization.
- Implement process improvements, tooling, material, and method validation.
- Lead DFM and NPI initiatives, ensuring smooth prototype-to-production transitions.
- Conduct lessons learned reviews post-NPI and drive corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering on RCA and corrective actions.
- Act as technical point of contact for customers regarding process support.
- Demonstrate expertise in solder paste stencil design and application.
- Drive scalable process improvement and new process development projects.
- Mentor and develop Process Engineering personnel.
- Ensure compliance with QMS and regulatory standards.
?? Requirements
- Onsite role (remote/hybrid not available).
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in electronics manufacturing or process engineering.
- Strong knowledge of PCBA, SMT, and electronic assembly processes.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex projects.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and effective in cross-functional environments.
? Preferred Experience
- PCBA failure analysis (cross-section, dye-and-pry, etc.).
- Lead-free materials and soldering technologies.
- High-density interconnect (HDI) and micro-via technologies.
- Manual and robotic soldering processes (including BGA rework).
- Tooling and fixture design.
- Epoxy and corner-bonding applications.
- Manual and automated conformal coating processes.
