About CCMS

The Connected Customer and Mobility Solutions organization develops, in an Agile/SAFe environment, the technologies enabling a new generation of connected vehicles worldwide. This includes call centers located in multiple countries backed by two world class data centers. Our technology is a key enabler to things like smarter car sharing programs, driver customization opportunities, and advanced active safety systems including autonomous driving. These capabilities exist through the largest implementation of 4G LTE in the automotive industry which enables the capture of extensive amount of vehicle data to our Big Data platform. Our innovation teams are driving game changing technology to the consumer and the automotive industry.

Who You Are

As the primary line of engineering support for Mobile Architecture, you will drive execution of a specific compartment by ensuring accurate interface occurs between engineering functions and Mobile Design Studios. Are you ready? Here's more! You will also:

  • Coordination and integration of engineering information
  • Lead engineering feasibility activities, physical and math models, for specific compartments
  • Work with engineering to build Engineering requirements to support the Studio design
  • Confirm packaging requirements are feasible and balance with Studio Design direction
  • Perform complex assignments requiring a wider application of principles, theories and concepts
  • Participate in Engineering / Program Meetings
  • Lead multi-functional meetings to resolve daily working issues and publish meeting minutes
  • Craft concepts and develop proposals to resolve issues
  • Generates trade matrices to study alternatives while considering impacts such as customer satisfaction, cost, mass, timing, design for assembly, dimensional variation and other program imperatives
  • Document open issues, status and closure
  • Utilize Corporate Best Practices; challenge them when needed to meet styled surface or customer requirements
  • Understands the Global Vehicle Development Process
  • Stays ahead of current product developments and trends in area of responsibility
  • Shares lessons learned with team members

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or at least 5 years applicable Mobile Application Architecture experience
  • Expertise in design and development in one of the following programming languages- Java, Swift / Objective-C, JavaScript / TypeScript / React Native
  • Strong understanding of HTTP/REST/API architectures
  • Experience with publishing mobile apps on Google Play or Apple App Store
  • Experience with large multi-functional teams, with a track record of having developed professional documentation - system level diagrams (context, sequence flows, UML activity, logical, physical, deployment)
  • Experience with security architectures and designs
  • Work with Solution Architects (SA) to improve overall system design
  • Agile development environment experience and passion
  • Creative problem-solving skills and ability to effectively communicate and translate feedback, needs and solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have strong teamwork orientation and the ability to foster collaboration within and across teams
  • Good work ethic and strong sense of ownership of end result

What Would Be Better

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • 7+ years proven industry experience in mobile app architecture
  • Mobile application architecting experience in a complex operating environment, preferably automotive
  • Mobile App Cert Pinning, KeyStore / KeyChain and static code scanning tools such as Fortify and BlackDuck
  • Mobile notification platform experience (i.e. FCM and APNS)
  • Mobile app architecting across different form factors such as Projection (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay) and Watch
  • Experience in Mobile analytics platform such as A e and real-time crash reporting tool such as Crashlytics
  • Proven experience/responsibility for design and architectural decisions of app
  • Solid understanding of secure development practices
  • Proven knowledge and practical application of design patterns such as MVP, Dependency Injection, Factory, Singleton, etc.
  • Understanding of object-oriented design, client-server architecture, relational and non-relational database design
